Because of it's compatibility with the increasing popular XML (eXtensible Markup Language) format, and that it requires all markup associated with layout and style to be declared using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), XHTML 1.0 Strict is easy for non-standard browsers to read and interpret as neccessary. This includes browsers designed to be used by the blind that convert text to speech. |
